Countdown - 3 weeks to go!

In three weeks we will be leaving for a six week trip to Italy, so the excitement is building! In addition to being "tourists", we are looking forward to more walking, this time doing a small section of the Via Francigena, which is a pilgrimage trail that actually starts in Canterbury, UK and ends in Rome. We will be starting the walk near Cinque Terre, and will have approximately three weeks on the trail. It is unlikely we will make it all the way to Rome on foot, as we will be taking some rest days along the way to enjoy some of the towns we pass through, not to mention the wine we will be sampling!! (Did I mention that Tuscany is noted for its wine??) Our Danish friends we met on the Camino last year will be joining us in Siena to walk with us for a week, so we are looking forward to seeing them again.
We have taken a photography course recently, so our focus on this trip will be to savour the experience of walking through Tuscany, enjoy the wine and food to the fullest, and hopefully come home with some wonderful photos! Our itinerary includes Venice, Florence, Pisa, Cinque Terre, walking on the Via Francigena, Rome, Amalfi Coast, possibly Sicily, and lastly Naples. Our plan is to include more photos on our blog this time, and we hope you enjoy coming along with us!
